South Morang man’s narrow miss as brick thrown through window

A man driving in Malvern has narrowly escaped injury after a brick was thrown through his car windscreen.

Police said the 38-year-old South Morang man was driving his Mercedes van along the Monash Freeway towards the city when a brick was thrown from a footbridge near Ivanhoe Grove about 7.45pm on Tuesday.

The brick smashed through the front windscreen of the car and landed on the driver’s lap.

The man escaped without injury, but the window was extensively damaged.
