BUILDING a car is the ultimate for motoring buffs around the
world, but building racing cars with one of the world’s top motorsport
teams is a dream come true for four Kangan Institute automotive
students.
Coburg’s Enrico Beccaris and colleagues Adrian Sarkadi, Paul
Pawlyszyn and Edward Hamilton have started six-month, full-time
internships with the Nissan Motorsport V8 racing team, one of a number
of high-profile industry partners of the state-of-the-art training
grounds of the Automotive Centre of Excellence at Docklands.
Kangan Institute offers automotive training across certificates
II, III and IV levels. As part of its internship program, selected
students are assigned to the Nissan Motorsport operation, which includes
19 separate departments, to experience preparation and re-assembly work
needed by race circuits worldwide. They will each receive a $3500
Kangan Institute scholarship for the duration of their internships.
“With our modern training facility, we deliver current training to
all of our apprentices and also to industry,” automotive operations
manager Joe Ballato said.
Graduates of the centre are qualified to help major automobile
manufacturers bring new models to market, advise logistics companies
about using biofuels and help enthusiasts build hot-rods.
