$1500 stolen in temple burglary

Police are investigating a burglary at a Sikh temple in Campbellfield where $1500 of donated cash was stolen.

It is alleged that two male offenders arrived outside the temple on Malcolm Place in a vehicle about 10.30pm on Monday 29 December.

Police were told one of the offenders used an angle grinding tool to cut through the lock and enter the building.

The offender allegedly approached the shrine inside the temple and removed a large donation box and stole around $1500 cash, before the two males fled in the vehicle.

Detectives from Hume Crime Investigation Unit have released CCTV footage and images of one of the males which they believe may help their investigation.

The man pictured was wearing tracksuit pants, a black hoodie with white text, and white shoes, a black hat, gloves and an orange face mask.

Anyone with any information or footage of the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
