A new park under construction at Craigieburn will have children dreaming of infinity … and beyond.
Stockland has unveiled plans for an outer-space-themed park at Highlands’ Mount Ridley precinct, where budding astronauts will be able to let their imagination run wild.
Northfield Park has been designed by MDG Landscape Architects and will feature special play equipment, a shelter, basketball half-court and a kick-about area.
A second new playground, Highlander Park, will be built in the lakeside area of Highlands.
It will include play equipment for younger and older children, a basketball half-court and picnic areas.
Stockland project director James Westh says construction of both parks will start within months.
“Highlands has some of the best parks in the area, and these two new playgrounds will be a fantastic addition to the community,” he said.
“We believe in promoting and helping to facilitate and encourage a healthy and active outdoor lifestyle. We strongly believe in providing interesting and engaging spaces that will effectively compete with, and win, over screen time.
“Having great parks and playgrounds encourages youngsters and their families to get out and get active.”
