It’s bloomin’ wonderful … finally. Spring has sprung and the roses are out … albeit a little late.
And the annual Ballan Red Cross flower show, always a sign of warmer weather, is back.
Event organiser Mary Williams says the luncheon and flower show has been a hit with locals and tourists for almost four decades.
She says it’s an opportunity for people to showcase their beautiful craftwork or flowers they’ve been lovingly growing.
“For a lot of people, it’s a social day, but it’s also for a good cause,” Ms Williams says.
Author Tor Roxburgh will be this year’s guest speaker and will talk on drugs during the event, which starts at noon on Friday, November 25.
Luncheon tickets cost $25, but entry to the flower show is free. For more information, call 5368 1128.
