Pacific Epping to honour local emergency services workers

MFB crews will demonstrate how they use the Jaws of Life (supplied).

Meet and greet local emergency services workers at Pacific Epping’s family fun day this Sunday.

The emergency services family day will pay tribute to the firefighters, police and maritime safety officers who serve the Epping community.

MFB crews will take part in Jaws of Life demonstration at 11am, showing shoppers how they use the tool to rescue people from car crashes.

The Victoria Police pipe band will perform throughout the day, while there will also be a mounted branch and police motorcycle display.

Kids can stay entertained with free activities including face painting, a bouncy castle and a sausage sizzle.

Centre manager Simon Brown said he hoped the day would raise awareness about the work emergency services do on a day-to-day basis.

“It’s an honour for us to be able to utilise our centre to raise awareness of the local emergency services and everything they do for the Epping community,” he said.
