Opportunity abounds

Marymede Catholic College in South Morang has gone ahead in leaps and bounds since it launched 16 years ago, recently opening a multi-million-dollar Materials and Technology Centre that sits alongside the Trade Skills Centre.

Principal Michael Kenny says the next focus of the P-12 College is further development of the Performing Arts Centre.

“These excellent facilities and resources, together with wonderful experienced staff, give our students access to opportunities to discover their best selves and to take on the workforce and world,” he says.

“To inspire our students to be their best, we have a big focus on character development. We teach and model care for others and an awareness of the needs of people less fortunate, as well as develop in them a sense of pride in their school and what it offers.

“Our students feel they belong, are cared for and safe, as well as challenged to do their best. … There’s nothing holding them back from reaching for the heights.

“We also believe it’s the strong partnership between staff, students and parents which translates to better informed parents and improved opportunities for their children.

“And, importantly, we offer a pathway for every student – regardless of skills, interest and abilities.”

Mr Kenny concludes by saying that 2021 will be an exciting time to enrol at the college, and he welcomes inquiry from parents as they make the important decision of choosing a school.
