At a time when the wellbeing of older people has never been more important, Baptcare Wattle Grove Aged Care Community provides outstanding care and a welcoming environment for those who can no longer live at home, says client relationship partner, Camila Dahan.
“I’m the first point of contact for people who are considering a move into the community,” Camila says. “I support new residents and their families throughout their transition to residential aged care, right from the time of their initial inquiry.”
She says that Wattle Grove makes people feel at home from the moment they arrive.
“Wattle Grove is a brand-new facility but it has a homely feel, so it really offers the ideal environment – it’s spacious and modern while also being welcoming.”

“Our residents come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds that are representative of the local area, so we try to ensure that we cater to individual cultural needs.
“As well as providing plenty of variety with our menu choices and lifestyle activities, we also feature a specific cultural theme each month, so residents can enjoy familiar experiences while being exposed to other cultures. Our residents also find it reassuring that we have multicultural staff who speak a range of languages.”
Aside from these features, Wattle Grove is known for the quality of its care.
“Our community is run by Baptcare, which is a not-for-profit organisation with 75 years’ experience in providing aged care services to the people of Victoria.
“Unlike some aged care communities, we have experienced registered nurses on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A dedicated nurse unit manager is assigned to each floor and is responsible for co-ordinating clinical care, as well as providing a consistent contact point for residents and their families.”
Putting health and safety first
Camila says that Wattle Grove has been vigilant in protecting its community from the risk of COVID-19.
“We are strictly following all government guidelines pertaining to aged care. This includes continuous training of our staff, limited movement of people through the facility, fastidious cleaning practices and the use of appropriate protective equipment.”
With these protocols in place, Camila notes that COVID-19 hasn’t changed the process for people interested in joining the community.
“We are accepting new admissions as normal, and we are conducting tours.”
