Beekeeping

Head to Whittlesea library, 57 Laurel Street, Whittlesea, on Saturday, February 25. from 11am-12.30pm to learn about beekeeping. Sue Zuber from the Beekeepers Club will talk about the wonders of keeping bees in your backyard, as well as the legal requirements and the basic equipment requirements.

Playgroups for kids

Mill Park Playgroup runs community playgroup sessions in Mill Park, Epping and Thomastown for children aged up to six years old, as well as a three-year-old program for children two-and-a-half years and up. Sessions are held Tuesday-Friday mornings. Free trials available.

Market day

Enjoy a free magic show at Thomastown Neighbourhood House on Saturday, March 4, 10am-1pm. There will also be an indoor market. 52 Main Street, Thomastown.

Greenvale residents meeting

The Greenvale Residents’ Association will hold its first meeting for 2017 on Thursday, February 23, at Greenvale Recreation Centre, Barrymore Road, from 7pm.

Men’s group

Lalor library’s new men’s group will start on Wednesday, February 22, at 2A May Road, from 2.30-5pm. The group will discuss topics such as health, finance, cooking and technology.

Exhibition

Visit Mill Park library between March 1-26 to view an inspiring exhibition by a member of the Northern Safari Camera Club. The exhibition features photographs from travels around the world.

Colour carnival

Celebrate Whittlesea’s cultural diversity at the Colour Carnival on Saturday, March 25, noon-6pm, at Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium, McDonalds Road, Epping. There will be a colour run for people of all ages and abilities, carnival rides, food stalls, a DJ and Bollywood and Greek dancing workshops.

Art show

The Craigieburn Art Group will hold its annual art show from March 4-5 at Craigieburn Leisure Centre, 127 Craigieburn Road, 10am-5pm. Artists will give demonstrations on both days. Money raised will be donated to Craigieburn SES.
