Puppy storytime

Bring your puppy or pet to storytime or read to a toy puppy at Whittlesea libreary, 57 Laurel Street, Whittlesea, on Friday, February 17, 4-5pm. There will be lots of fun for kids and their pets in the community garden.

Playgroups for kids

Mill Park Playgroup runs community playgroup sessions in Mill Park, Epping and Thomastown for children aged up to six years old, as well as a three-year-old program for children two-and-a-half years and up. Sessions are held Tuesday-Friday morning and are run by a group leader. Toys and activities change weekly. Free trials available.

Thomastown programs

Thomastown Neighhourhood House is running community programs throughout term one, including introduction to social media, English as a second language for asylum seekers, makers space morning teas and makers days. At 52 Main Street, Thomastown.

Philippines Festival

Celebrate the rich culture of the Philippines at Plenty Valley Community Church’s Philippines Festival on Saturday, February 18, 1-5pm. There will be singing, dancing, a fashion parade, lots of food, music and an art exhibition. Entry is free. At 5/9 Danaher Drive, South Morang.

Outdoor movie

Make your way to Homestead Community and Learning Centre, 30 Wiltshire Drive, Roxburgh Park, on Saturday, February 18, for a free outdoor screening of Finding Dory. The movie is part of Hume council’s summer events program. There will be entertainment from 6pm, with the movie screening from 7pm. BYO rug or chair.
