ARTHRITIS HELP

There are many exercises which can help ease arthritic pain. Craigieburn arthritis self-help group helps sufferers manage their condition through various activities. The group holds chair exercises every Thursday, 10.30am-noon, at Guide Hall, Hamilton Street, Craigieburn. Cost: $4 a person per session. First session free.

People of 50 and older can improve their leisure time and learning skills at Whittlesea U3A, which offers more than 70 activities for a small annual fee. The group is looking for new members and tutors to join this multicultural club.

CLEAN UP YOUR ACT

Sites where residents can be involved in Clean Up Australia Day include Darebin Creek, Bundoora; Laurimar Wetlands, Doreen and Narina Park and Aurora estate in Epping. They’re all registered clean-up sites. Pick a site and register with the co-ordinator by 10am, Sunday. Bring sunscreen, a drink, gloves, hat and sunglasses and wear sturdy, covered shoes.

TEA PARTY

Tea Cosies is an exhibition fund-raiser featuring a vibrant display of handcrafted tea cosies created by textile artists and community crafters from around Australia. Proceeds from tea cosy sales are donated to the Australian Animal Protection Society. The expo is open until Sunday, March 23, at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, Bundoora. Free entry.
