An unbeaten 151 from Danny Law spearheaded Westmeadows’ charge to 6-310 declared in Victorian Turf Cricket Association north division on Saturday.
Law had not passed 40 this season, but he proved unstoppable against Williamstown CYMS on Saturday as he combined with Clayton Campbell (42), Tarique Jeffrey (31) and Aaron Evans (32) to accelerate the Warriors’ charge.
At Royal Park, Tullamarine also passed 300, and being 8-315 by the 68th over allowed the Demons to declare early and reduce Royal Park-Brunswick to 2-13 by stumps.
In north A1, Craigieburn was out for 148 at DS Aitken Reserve before visiting St Francis de Sales reached 2-74 by stumps.
In north B1, Glenroy dismissed Aberfeldie Park for 105 only to almost fall short in reply.
Steven Goodwin was the day’s hero, taking 7-34 for Glenroy, including a hat-trick.
Goodwin then saved the day with eight not out as he combined with Jarryd Mills (1no) as Glenroy squeaked to first-innings points with 9-111 in reply.
Division rivals Jacana scored 9-255 against Maribyrnong Park-St Marys, recovering from 6-55 thanks to lower-order runs from Michael Evans (57), Casey Whelan (52) and Chintika Perera (57).
In senior division, Greenvale’s visit to Keilor was reduced to a one-dayer after the pitch at Robert Bruce Reserve was deemed unfit for play.
