A touch of glass

Glass with Conscience showcases works by artists in GASP (Glass Addicts Support Program). It features a variety of disciplines including kiln form, bead-making, mosaic, leadlight and copper foil. This mesmerising display of contemporary and traditional ‘art glass’ features wall plaques, jewellery and sculpture. At Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, 7-27 Snake Gully Drive, Bundoora, until December 1. Free.

Making history

Discover the colourful past of Whittlesea in this session hosted by members of the Whittlesea Historical Society. You will learn how the township of Whittlesea got its name, why there is an antique clock at the Whittlesea post office and what was on offer at the Whittlesea Agricultural Show in the 1800s. You’ll also hear about the society’s work advocating for the preservation of local history. Supper is included. Viva Italia

November is a month of celebration in Italy, demonstrated with truffle fairs, festival della salute in Venice, and theatre and music performances. Now Italian celebrations come to Mill Park with cultural and contemporary music and dance. On Monday, November 11, from 6.30-8.30pm,

Sustainable swap

It’s National Recycling Week, and residents are invited to take part in a clothing and book swap party. Bring along five good-quality, and clean, men’s or women’s clothing items or books that you no longer want. Register each item in exchange for a token, see what others have brought along, and then swap your tokens for new items. Booking is essential. Post-baby blues

Do you suffer from post-natal depression, or are you concerned
that you may be susceptible after
the birth of your child? Then attend this session to learn about the condition, how to manage it and what to expect. You’ll discover practical ways of how to look after your emotional well-being after having a baby. This workshop is open to all ages.
