Fireys all aglow for Craigieburn Festival torchlight parade

Craigieburn CFA senior station officer Peter Spicer and his team have polished the station’s brass torches and pressed their uniforms for Craigieburn Festival’s annual torchlight parade in which the fireys march though the suburb on the first evening of celebrations.

This year marks the 70th year of the CFA, so Hume council is encouraging the community to line the streets and applaud the volunteer and career firefighters who play an indispensable role in the community.

The festival is on Saturday, February 28, from 3-10pm and the next day, Sunday, from 11am-4pm at DS Aitken Reserve, Craigieburn.

Festival highlights will include fireworks, kite-making workshops, a performance by popular children’s group The Kazoos, and clinics conducted by Tennis Australia, Cricket Australia and the North Melbourne Football Club.
