TWO extra train services will run during morning and evening peak times on the newly named South Morang line.
A timetable has been drawn up for the first trains to the new South Morang station and services will start on April 22.
The $498 million South Morang extension is in its final construction stages.
The former Epping rail line was duplicated from Keon Park to Epping and extended to South Morang.
Massive steel frames which will form part of the station walls were delivered on oversize vehicles last week.
Details of the new timetable will be available before April 22 online at metlinkmelbourne.com.au. Printed timetables are expected to be be available by April 10.
The extension is part of Metro Trains’ plan to introduce 350 more train trips a week across Melbourne.
