THE National Broadband Network will be rolled out in the outer northern suburbs over the next three years.
Last week, the National Broadband Network Company announced that Epping, Whittlesea, Woodstock, Eden Park, Bundoora and parts of Kinglake and Kinglake West would have the NBN rolled out as part of the next phase of the $43 billion federal government project.
When is the NBN coming to you?
Mill Park is due to receive the NBN extension within the next year, following the completion of the first module in South Morang.
Member for McEwen Rob Mitchell – who sits on the NBN committee in federal parliament – said the rollout was on schedule, and this new phase would see it extended to more than 8700 homes.
Mr Mitchell said the “biggest issue” was managing the expectations of residents, schools and businesses who desperately wanted high-speed internet access as a priority.
