Care for kids: Three-hour occasional childcare sessions are on offer at the Lalor Living and Learning Centre, 47A French Street, Lalor. Sessions run Monday to Friday, from 9am to noon and 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Cost is $19 per child. Available for children aged five and under. Details : call 9465 5162.

Get crafty: Come and join classes in sewing, art, crochet, knitting, photography, tai chi and yoga at Bundoora Community Centre in Noorong Avenue, Bundoora. Classes run at various times on Tuesday and Wednesday between 9am and 2.15pm, and Thursday morning between 9am and noon. Details: call 9467 6305.

Be hospitable: Get qualified with practical experience and two accredited units of Certificate II in Hospitality, at Preston Reservoir Adult Community Education, corner Asquith and Sturdee streets, Reservoir. Classes start June 7 and will be held on Thursdays for three weeks. Details: call 9462 6077.

Respite arts: Suitable is a fully accessible program of drawing, animation and video-making held every Saturday from 1pm to 5pm at Creeds Farm Living and Learning Centre, corner Redding Rise and Snugburgh Way, Epping North. This DHS-funded respite activity is for people living with a disability in the City of Whittlesea, but all community members can attend. Cost is $5 a week. Colour your world: Learn how to work with watercolours. Beginner’s kit available at $120 or students can bring their own equipment. Classes will be held on Mondays from 1pm to 3pm from July 16 for eight weeks, at 47 Lambourne Road, Watsonia. Cost is $100.
