A BUNDOORA-based bus company has earned a place in
the inaugural Family Business Australia’s Victorian Hall of Fame.
The Dyson Group of Companies was inducted into the hall of fame, which celebrates outstanding contributions of family businesses and recognises excellence in their area of expertise.
The organisation was joined by Haymes Paint and Wittners Australia as the first three businesses to receive the honour.
Family Business Australia’s executive officer for Victoria, Trudy Alcoe, said the nominees exemplified the fundamentals of successful multi-generational family businesses. “Each generation of these businesses has built on the reputation for quality their parents worked so hard to establish,” she said.
“When Laurie Dyson bought a bus business from his old boss in 1952, he had four ‘clapped out’ buses; now, 50 years later, Dyson operates more than 420 buses and coaches from Melbourne all the way up to the Northern Territory.”
Joint managing director at Dysons, Lance Deacon, thanked everyone at the company for their ongoing support and contribution to the success of the family business.
