BARBARA Ireland doesn’t use paint and canvas to create her artwork.
The Whittlesea Community House tutor lifts the drop foot on her sewing machine and ‘‘draws’’ with the needle on to fabric.
She has created elaborate, multicoloured landscapes the size of A3 paper with the technique that she teaches at the community house.
The machine embroidery course is included in the craft classes at the centre held the first, third and (where applicable) fifth Tuesday of every month. Details: 9716 3361.
