Bundoora Homestead Arts Centre cottons on to history

Gina Wilson is rescuing family heirlooms from garage sales and opportunity shops. The wealth of history in the embroidered tablecloths, doilies, aprons and tea-cosies is on display at Bundoora Homestead Arts Centre until September 16.

“These are handmade by someone’s great-grandmother, grandmother or great aunt,” she says. “For generations linen was among a family’s most precious possessions.”

The homestead is at 27 Snake Gully Drive, Bundoora.

Details: 9496 1060.
