Roo hopping mad after stressful Doreen  detour

A confused kangaroo made a hopping visit to suburbia last week. Standing taller than rubbish bins out for collection, the eastern grey was snapped on an iPhone by Doreen resident Amanda Radovic.

“He was a big boy and he was really distressed,” she said.

She photographed him on Monday in Lake Front Mews, Doreen about 11.30am, and said he headed to Overland Drive and Painted Hills Road and even jumped into a lake.

Other locals had told her the kangaroo might have belonged to a mob that live on Cookes Road, Doreen, and become lost, she said.

Wildlife Victoria spokeswoman Amy Amato said people who found kangaroos in residential streets should call wildlife rescuers.

Wildlife Victoria’s rescue number is 1300 094 535.
