Man arrested over Western Ring Road crash

A Broadmeadows man, 29, was arrested at Melbourne Airport this morning,
police spokeswoman Natalie Webster said.

“It is expected that detectives
from Major Collision Investigation Unit will charge the man with culpable
driving and dangerous driving causing death,’’ Ms Webster said.

A truck and six cars
were involved in the accident on the Western Ring Road on August 23 at
9.15am.

Police said at the time that the truck entered the road from the Hume
Highway and rear-ended a car pushing it into other cars, then ran over
it.
