Lots to like as Epping business park spurs jobs bonanza

EPPING’S new $80 million business park is off to a flying start with four of its 15 stage one lots sold.

The MAB Corporation will not reveal the identity of the four buyers, whose lots range from 1388 square metres to 2800 square metres, but claims it is the start of a jobs boom for the northern suburbs.

MAB commercial and industrial general manager Richard Johnston said the 62-hectare Alliance Business Park would become a key industrial hub of the north, generating 4000 jobs.

Mr Johnston expected the stage one lots to sell quickly because of a shortage of industrial land in the north.

“We expect demand to be high from established northern businesses in conjunction with those associated with the proposed new Melbourne Wholesale Fruit and Vegetable Market,” he said.

The stage one lots ranged from 1000 square metres to 6044 square metres with the option of larger lots, and prices started at $297,000.

“We are offering high flexibility with these lots to suit a wide range of businesses,” said Mr Johnston. “This includes the opportunity to combine lots to suit larger requirements.”

Mr Johnston expected construction to start soon and for the first stage to be completed by September.

“Now that the planning permit has been approved, we are working with the City of Whittlesea to commence work as soon as possible,” Mr Johnston said. “We are keen to welcome new businesses to the estate by the end of 2013.”

The business park is in O’Herns Road, near Epping Plaza and Northern Hospital.
