Northern Hospital’s seven little Australians celebrate birth of nation

Newborn Filip Stojanovski arrived more than a week early, such was his enthusiasm to join in Australia Day celebrations.

He was one of 21 babies born at the weekend at the Northern Hospital. His mum Sylvana, of Thomastown, couldn’t wait to hold him.

“I couldn’t wish for a better Australia Day celebration than the birth of my own little Aussie,” she said.

Northern Health acting chief executive officer Robynne Cooke congratulated the parents of the newborns saying: “It is fitting that we welcome so many new babies of different cultures into the world on Australia Day weekend, a day that celebrates our wonderfully diverse nation.”
