Plenty Road duplication: Scissorhanded protester cuts Baillieu down to size

ROADS Minister Terry Mulder had some unwanted assistance cutting the ribbon to open the $21.8 million Plenty Road duplication last week.

Protester “Ted-ward Scissorhands” dressed like the film character with scissors for hands, offered to do the job, quipping “Ted [Baillieu] cuts ribbons with one hand and budgets with the other”.

Mr Mulder said the 2.4 kilometre duplication from Gordons Road to Riverdale Boulevard, including bicycle and bus priority lanes, would improve traffic flow and reduce travel times.
