A LALOR man faces 59 charges for an alleged crime spree, which includes the theft of a $289,000 Porsche and four police pursuits.
Police allege Steve Kaxos, 23, of Lalor, stole the Porsche 911 from a St Kilda Road apartment car park on February 7 with his Thomastown girlfriend, Charmaine Riley, 25.
Nathan Knight, 21, of Lalor also faces charges relating to the theft of the sports car.
During a police pursuit on February 11, officers were chasing a stolen vehicle through Bundoora allegedly driven by Kaxos with Riley in the passenger seat. In an alleged pursuit six days later, Kaxos was arrested by police in Mill Park following a chase involving the aerial wing and the dog squad.
Kaxos has been remanded in custody to face a committal mention at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on May 13. Knight and Riley have been bailed and will face court on April 15 and May 13 respectively.
