With a heavenly harp accompanying them, the Greenbrook Singers have the voices of angels. Conductor and harpist Margaret Crichton (centre) says the women, aged from 60 to 85, are untrained “shower singers” from Greenbrook Community House in Epping. They performed last weekend at the Whittlesea Community Festival. “We started in 2004 and some of the original members are still part of our 10 woman line-up, singing everything from golden oldies, folk, ’60s and ’70s pop music and songs in other languages,” Crichton says. “We mostly sing a cappella but also use the folk harp. If people want to join all you need is a love of singing.”
