Families dig in for La Trobe Uni open day

A career in forensic investigation could be on the cards for Imogen, Solveig and Logan.

The curious children, pictured with La Trobe University co-ordinator Thea Kinsla and volunteer Laura Campbell, got their hands dirty at a dig site during a university Family Day last Thursday.

The site, usually used by archaeology students, was planted with various artefacts for visitors to dig up to help solve a historical mystery.

The day’s festivities also allowed the families of university staff to get a rare glimpse into the life of a scientist, lawyer and journalist through a range of interactive activities.
