Laurimar Primary gets in touch with technology

Laurimar Primary School has a new app to update parents on events, announcements and school information.

Assistant principal Anthony Oldmeadow says apps are not widely used by primary schools but they are a sensible way to keep in touch.

The app’s 600 plus users can access the website, an events calendar and a billboard that staff update once a week.

“In the old days it was email and notes sent home,” Mr Oldmeadow says.

“Now we can send notifications straight to phones.”

The app is free.
