VSDCA: Plenty Valley’s batsmen lead way in final

A typically masterful batting display has assured Plenty Valley its remarkable 2013-14 season will continue, beating Balwyn by 64 runs.
The Bats reached 9-335 declared from 80 overs of play, with each top-order batsman getting a start. Openers Sean Ayres (37) and Dylan Forster (57) put on 69 for the first wicket, skipper Michael Sheedy added 61, Lorenzo Ingram added 21 before he was stumped and Daniel Heatley top-scored with 88.
Balwyn put in a committed display with the bat, making 271, but Plenty Valley’s bowlers wore them down slowly. Ben Dennett (4-60) led the attack.
