■ It seems there is more to the story regarding requesting a name change since a group of Beveridge residents has been trying so long. They want a part of Beveridge renamed Wurunbik, meaning ‘‘manna gum country’’. People prefer to be part of other areas due to different ideals. If you don’t like where you are, move.

CLIMATE ACTION NEEDED NOW
■ The CSIRO’s new State of the Climate report is unequivocal: Australia’s climate is warming, with storms, floods, bushfires and droughts all set to get worse. I don’t know what fantasy world Tony Abbott lives in, but it’s not the one the rest of us share. The science says we need to take action to stop temperatures rising further.
