Teen arrested after hit-run death

Police have arrested a Craigieburn man following a hit-and-run in Campbellfield last Tuesday night. Police said a Werribee man, 19, was running on Amcor Way when he was struck by a car travelling in the same direction just before midnight. The driver of the car, also 19, was arrested the next day and was helping police with their inquiries. Police urged anyone with information

Man charged with boy’s murder

A Glenroy man has been charged with

the murder of a three-year-old boy.

Police said Brok Hughes, 25, was the boyfriend of the child’s mother. The toddler was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries on May 9. Police applied for an interim intervention order to prevent

the man from seeing the woman’s

two other children, aged under 10.

Hughes was remanded in custody to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court next month.

Laughs raise funds
