VFL: Northern Blues end drought with win over Sandringham

Northern Blues ended a four-game losing streak with a 12-point win against Sandringham in the VFL on Saturday.

The Northern side, including double Brownlow medallist Chris Judd, led at every break of a close match to win 11.7 (73) to 9.7 (61).

Tyson Thomas, Thomas Wilson and Nick Graham kicked two goals each for the Blues.

Graham and fellow AFL-listed player Jaryd Cachia again pushed their cases for AFL selection with best-on-ground performances.

Judd, playing his career-first VFL match after returning from injury, had 18 possessions.

The Blues are 10th on the ladder with four wins and four losses. They will face Richmond at Punt Road on Saturday.
