Petrol bombs in Thomastown

Three neighbouring houses in Victoria Drive, Thomastown, were attacked with petrol bombs in the early hours of Friday. No one was injured and the fire damage was not significant, but detectives and forensic examiners are investigating. A petrol bomb was thrown at the front bedroom window of the first house, setting fire to curtains and carpet. A smoke alarm alerted
the residents to the fire. The second house was relatively unharmed after
an attack. The third house had

Intersection update funded

Hume council has finally been assured of federal funding for the notorious Craigieburn-Hanson roads intersection at Craigieburn. More than $600,000 has been allocated from the federal budget, while a further $177,658 from the council will upgrade the dangerous intersection with traffic signals, a left-turn lane, U-turn lane, through- lanes, a median island, better lighting and pedestrian crossings.

Man dies in Lalor crash

Police are investigating a fatal crash in Lalor early on Thursday morning. Officers believe a Suzuki Swift was travelling north on Dalton Road when it crashed into a tree near Monash Street about 2am. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man, died at the scene.
