La Festa Italiano

San Donato was a medieval saint famed for performing miracles, such as giving sight to the blind and killing dragons. In Italy, La Festa di San Donato celebrates the anniversary of his death, and effigies are paraded through the streets. On Sunday, August 3, the San Donato Association of Lalor celebrates this saint’s day with a Mass and colourful procession around St Lukes Church, followed by free opera performances from the Banda Bellini in the church hall. Refreshments follow celebrations. St Luke’s is at 1A David Street, Lalor (Melway 8 K5).
