Free pet lovers event

Calling all pet owners and animal lovers, Hume Pet Lover and Family Fun Day is being held at Banksia Gardens Community Services at the end of the month.

The free family-friendly event will celebrate Hume’s furry friends from 10am-1pm on Saturday 28 February in Broadmeadows.

You can bring along your well-behaved dog on a leash, and a photo of your pet to enrol in competitions on the day. The Best Dressed Pooch will be crowned as well as the Best Animal Costume.

Children can meet the special guest Bluey, enjoy children’s activities, face painting, the kids play zone and delicious treats.

Animal welfare groups and rescue shelters will also be on site sharing tips on pet care, adoption, and support services.

The event will be held at 71-81 Pearcedale Parade, Broadmeadows, and is supported by Project Broadmeadows, a council initiative funded by the Australian government.

Council will hold a pop-up on the day where residents can share insights and their ideas for the future of Broadmeadows.
