Bundoora United has received a massive boost ahead of the Victorian Premier League women’s competition.
After finishing third last season and making the grand final, the side is aiming to go at least one spot better and gain promotion in the National Premier League women’s competition.
Bundoora has announced it has signed Addison Steiner for the upcoming season.
The club describes her playing style as speed, creativity, experience, grit and leadership.
“What a way to start the year! We’re thrilled to welcome the most exciting attacking talent in women’s football to Bundy for the upcoming season,” the club said on social media.
“After scoring 114 goals in her past two seasons at VPL level we are thrilled to announce the signing of Addison Steiner.
“This is a massive statement of intent for our brand new women’s side.”
Steiner played at champions Avondale last and won the VPL golden boot award as the leading goal scorer.
She also won the same award with the Casey Comets in 2024 and also won the league best and fairest.
Steiner helped both sides to win promotion.
“I chose Bundy because I immediately felt welcomed into a supportive, honest environment,” Steiner said as to why she chose Bundoora.
“I believe in their goal and dedication towards the women’s game and am eager to strive for another VPL promotion.”
Bundoora United kicks off its season on 6 March.
