The Australian Multicultural Community Centre (AUSMCC) hosted its annual multicultural bazaar in Roxburgh Park on 11 February, celebrating culture and entrepreneurship.
The event brought together emerging entrepreneurs, established business owners, service providers, and community members in a vibrant, inclusive space.
AUSMCC social worker Rashmi Khadka said the bazaar formed part of the organisation’s self-employment program which helps refugees and people with disabilities to launch their businesses.
“We are supporting emerging entrepreneurs to build confidence, develop practical skills, and move towards economic independence,” she said.
Stallholder Samia Mussa said she enjoyed sharing traditional African food and beverages with the community.
“Sharing the African coffee ritual is about more than coffee, it is about hospitality, storytelling, and bringing people together,” she said.
AUSMCC director Kholoud Ahmed said the organisation hopes to continue supporting diverse business owners.
“At AUSMCC, we are committed to providing ongoing guidance and resources to help new entrepreneurs succeed,” Mr Ahmed said.
“The bazaar is not just an event, it is part of a larger journey of empowerment, mentorship, and long-term support for our community members.”
The initiative was supported and funded by the federal Department of Social Services in collaboration with the Uniting VIC Tas communities for children in Hume program.
