Police have charged a 31-year-old Wallan woman after an alleged fatal hit-and-run in Whittlesea on Sunday 25 January .
Her charges include dangerous driving causing death, failing to stop and also failing to provide assistance.
It is alleged that the woman fled the scene after her car collided head-on with another, killing the male driver.
An 84-year-old Whittlesea man, was declared deceased at the scene on Grants Road about 5pm.
The Wallan women was arrested a short time later nearby and was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the collision under police guard.
