Northern Health has received an excellence award for its digital asthma care initiative.
The award for Excellence in Value-Based Healthcare was presented at the 2025 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards to the chief health outcomes officer and director of respiratory medicine, Dr Katharine See.
“Our severe asthma digital care pathway shows what happens when we focus on the outcomes that matter most to our patients and redesign care to meet their needs,” Dr See said.
The severe asthma digital care pathway aims to ensure care that is timely, personalised, and digitally enabled.
“This award is meaningful recognition of… value-based healthcare,” she said.
Dr See said the award shows the significance of innovative, digitally enabled models that make care more person-centred, outcome focused and sustainable.
“We’re especially grateful to our consumer group, whose lived experience and insight shaped this pathway and made the work stronger in every way.”
Northern Health board chair, Alan Lilly congratulated Dr See and her team.
“The rise of digital health tools enables us to fulfil our commitment to delivering value-based healthcare,” he said.
