Police continue investigation into Broadmeadows stabbing

Police are continuing to investigate an affray that left a Broadmeadows man with serious injuries after an alleged stabbing on Wednesday afternoon.

Detective Sergeant Jess Graham said police ran out of the Broadmeadows Police Station to find the 20-year-old Broadmeadows man bleeding on the street.

“It was chaos… you wouldn’t think that would happen right here,” she said.

Detective Sergeant Graham said the victim was left with a deep laceration to the right arm, and that bystanders’ clothing was tied around him to stop the bleeding.

Four men were arrested at the scene of the incident on 26 November.

A 15-year-old and 17-year-old from the Hume area, a 23-year-old Romsey man and a 24-year-old Sunbury man were released after questioning.

Detective Sergeant said police did not get a lot of information out of the arrested men, nor the victim who remains in hospital.

“No one is really cooperating,” Detective Sergeant Graham said.

Detective Sergeant Graham said prior to the incident, police witnessed a white Kia and black Volkswagen Golf driving erratically on Dimboola Road about 5pm.

The Kia allegedly rammed the Volkswagen multiple times before both cars drove on the wrong side of Pascoe Vale Road and collided with another vehicle.

The Broadmeadows man got out of one of the vehicles before he was allegedly stabbed, it is understood a number of people left the scene before police arrived.

Detective Sergeant Graham said the police are still looking for the occupants of the white Kia.

“We are investigating who was in what car, and who was involved in the stabbing,” she said.

Police are encouraging eyewitnesses to come forward with any videos or information about the incident by calling 1800 333 000 or visiting www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
