Hilltop playground makes a splash

The new splash park at Hilltop playground in Doreen is a “fantastic, vibrant space” according to McEwen MP Rob Mitchell.

Mr Mitchell joined Yan Yean MP Lauren Kathage and representatives from the City of Whittlesea to view the new splash park facilities last week.

The federal government allocated $1.5 million to the project during the 2022 federal election.

“This is a win for local families providing a safe, modern, and inclusive space for children to play, cool off, and connect. It is exactly the kind of investment our community deserves,” Mr Mitchell said.

“Projects like this strengthen our community, boost local participation, and improve liveability for the long term.”

The Hilltop Playground Splash Park features interactive water play areas, accessibility-friendly design and facilities, shaded seating, and upgraded landscaping to support a welcoming, family-friendly environment.

Mr Mitchell acknowledged the efforts of the local council, community groups, and project partners who helped deliver the project from concept to completion.

“Community voices were central to shaping this project, and today we see the results — a fantastic, vibrant space designed for everyone,” he said.

The Splash Park, at 20 Landano Way Doreen, is now open to the public.
