Hume council is looking into a request to name the park located at 54a Monomeath Drive in Mickleham Ace Reserve, calling on residents to participate in the process.
The name has been derived from the park’s original development process, which found many people requesting equipment to assist with exercise and staying active.
The park’s developer MAB Corporation chose the name in a bid to reflect the park’s vibrant nature and the play experiences it provided to local residents.
The park’s creation specifically responded to the Merrifield Plan Your Park – Community Engagement which noted a strong desire for equipment promoting movement and exercise.
The naming proposal from MAB Corporation mentioned similar approaches were adopted to “park naming for other parks located in Merrifield where vision/theme informed the naming of the park.”
“This can be seen with Hume council endorsement of names for other reserves in the estate such as Foundation Park and Pinnacle Park,” the naming proposal document notes.
Consultation opened to the public on Monday 10 November and closes on Tuesday 9 December, with community members invited to indicate their support or opposition of the proposed name at https://participate.hume.vic.gov.au.
Hume’s council will be presented with a report of the consultation process’s results in early 2026.
