Two arrested, firearm found

Police have arrested a 20-year-old Craigieburn man and a 19-year-old Meadow Heights man after allegedly locating drugs and a firearm in Reservoir in the early hours of the morning of Wednesday, October 1.

Police observed a white Toyota Corolla speeding along Mahoneys Road before the vehicle was dumped on Laurie Street in Reservoir just after 1am.

Officers pursued the male occupants on foot and arrested one man before locating a firearm, believed to be thrown under the car.

A search of the vehicle also allegedly located cannabis and weapons, including machetes.

A short time later, police also intercepted a white Mercedes, believed to be linked, on Hickford Street and arrested a man in possession of cartridges.

The investigation remains ongoing.
