Buses replace trains on Craigieburn line this weekend

Train passengers in Craigieburn, Broadmeadows, Roxburgh Park, Coolaroo, and Jacana are told to allow extra travel time this weekend, with buses replacing trains between North Melbourne and Craigieburn.

Disruptions start at 8.30pm on Friday, September 12 and will run through the whole weekend until the last service on Sunday, September 14, while essential maintenance works are carried out on the line.

Replacement buses will service all stations, including Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park, Coolaroo, Broadmeadows and Jacana, connecting passengers heading toward the city to train services at North Melbourne.

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) has advised commuters to plan ahead, as journeys are likely to take longer than usual.

The disruptions will also take place alongside car park closures for both Broadmeadows and Coolaroo stations due to maintenance works.

Coolaroo station will be affected by temporary car park closures from 7am Thursday, September 4 to 4am Monday, September 15.

Broadmeadows station will be affected by temporary car park closures from 6pm Friday, 12 September 12 to 6pm Sunday, 14 September 14.

Passengers with accessibility needs are encouraged to contact their local staff for assistance, or speak to staff at replacement bus stops.

Standard travel rules for buses apply, meaning conventional bicycles, surfboards and animals are not permitted on board, with the exception of service dogs or those kept in carriers.

For more details and updates, visit the PTV website or use the PTV app.
