Car stolen with two kids inside

Police are investigating the theft of a car which had two children inside of it in Doreen on Monday, September 1.

Two men allegedly got out of a Toyota Yaris before approaching a Ford Territory on Berkshire street about 6.30am.

The two men entered the Ford, which had two four-year-old children sitting in the back, before driving off.

Both children were dropped off a short distance away on Cookes Road.

Both the Toyota Yaris and Ford Territory sped off before colliding with each other, causing the Toyota to end up in a ditch.

Two females who were driving the Toyota Yaris were arrested.

Investigators are continuing to search for the Ford Territory and identify the two males who are alleged to have stolen it.

It is expected they will be charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

Anyone who witnessed the car theft, has CCTV/dashcam vision or has information as to the whereabouts of the Ford Territory, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
