Help koalas this September

The Australian Koala Foundation is calling on schools, kindergartens, daycares, community clubs, parents, teachers, carers and anyone working with children to get involved in Save the Koala Month this September.

Save the Koala Month is AKF’s biggest annual awareness campaign — a time to shine a spotlight on one of our most iconic and loved native animals and the urgent need to protect its habitat.

This year, expect a 30-day challenge filled with engaging activities, from cake stalls and dress-up days to bushwalks, trivia nights, craft projects and creative classroom fun.

Each week of September will have a theme, with the first focusing on awareness and education, before focusing on helping koala homes, keeping koalas safe and koala heroes in action to round out the month.

Every dollar raised during Save the Koala Month goes directly towards protecting wild Koalas and their precious habitat through the AKF’s conservation efforts. You can fundraise as an individual, family, class, or group.

Ways you can support the cause include collecting gold coin donations at school or club events, hosting a cake sale or trivia night, setting up a donation box at your school or sports club, donate online, adopting a koala online or by shopping at the online store.
