Police investigate Campbellfield hit-run

Police are investigating a hit-run collision in Campbellfield on Monday night.

Police caught sight of a vehicle travelling at speeds of up to 199km/h in the vicinity of Barry Road about 11.10pm.

The white Audi took off at speed when it spotted the police car, before it collided with a silver Subaru at the corner of Barry and Sydney roads.

The driver of the Audi dumped the car and took off on foot.

The driver of the Subaru, a 21-year-old man, and only passenger, a 19-year-old man, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Despite a thorough search of the area the driver of the Audi was not located.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Professional Standards Command will have oversight of the investigation, as per standard procedure when there is a collision in close proximity to police.
