New-look health directory a lifeline for Melbourne’s growing north

Melbourne’s northern suburbs now have a one-stop resource for navigating local health and well-being support, thanks to a major revamp of the DPV-Northern Health Service Directory.

DPV Health and Northern Health have teamed up to create a new and improved version of the directory, featuring updated mental health and post-cancer treatment services tailored for a diverse and fast-growing community.

Originally developed during the Covid-19 pandemic, the community service inventory was rarely seen.

But that’s changed–DPV has taken the lead on maintaining and expanding the tool, which is now live on both organisations’ websites.

“DPV Health is committed to supporting our community to access local high-quality health care services in a timely manner,” CEO of DPV Health, Don Todbury said.

“The DPV- Northern Health Service directory will help create a more connected health system, which is vital to achieve this goal.”

The directory now includes new mental health options and a stronger focus on support for people recovering from cancer.

“The Cancer Community Support Services section has been thoroughly updated to reflect the latest available resources,” the organisations said in a joint statement.

Chief Executive of Northern Health, Debra Bourne, said the resource is a key step forward.

“We are pleased to have partnered with DPV Health to update this important resource for our community,” Ms Bourne said.
