Vic Metro trial matches

The first of the Vic Metro trial matches were held last week with several locals getting their chance to impress.

There were two under-16 matches and two under-18 matches with Vic Metro facing off against Vic Country.

In the under-18s,, Northern Knights’ Tyson Gresham, Roman Moxon, Sebastian Murphy, Mitchell Moate and Lewis Houndsome were selected.

They were joined by the Calder Cannons’ Hussien El Achkar, Hamish Pearce, Hamish Bird, Cooper Herbet, Jackson Barber,

Western Jets’ Thomas McGuane, Kobe Williams, Lachlan Hicks, Oskar Ainsworth and Jacob Marron were named in the under-18 squads across two matches.

In the under-16s, the Northern Knights had Darcy Corr, Harry McLennan, Campbell Rooks, Toby Jeffs, Jack Dowling and Axton West playing.

Calder Cannons’ Koby Bewick, Tevita Rodan, Moustafa Darwish, Campbell White, Noah Hanegraaf, George Holderhead and Slayde Law made the squads.

Western Jets’ Sam Juricskay, Bailey Summers, Hugo Hanrahan, Oliver Castro, Griffin Barker, Curtis Lamont, Oliver Dreaver, Jake Miller and Archie King were named in the under-16 Vic Metro squad for game two of the trials.
